The Hyundai-Vinashin Shipyard Co. (HVS) on July 17 launched a 56,000 DWT cargo vessel, which is expected to be handed over to its new owners on October 30. This is the second of 10 vessels to be built under contract with Germany ’s E.R.Shiffahrt. The first one was launched on March 31, 2009 and will be delivered on July 31.
The ship, which is 187.8m long, 32.2m wide and 18.3m high, has a speed of 14.5 nautical miles per hour. It was built in seven months, one month quicker than the previous vessel.
To achieve this, HVS, since 2008, has invested over 100 million USD in upgrading its technologies and personnel training./. (vietnamplus)
